Engine Repair & Replacement

Engine repair and replacement, done right the first time

Knocking, overheating, burning oil, or an engine that has simply reached the end of the road — we diagnose it properly, tell you plainly whether it is worth repairing, and do the work in our Pocatello shop.

The honest version

What you are actually paying for

An engine problem is where most people get taken advantage of, because it is the one repair nobody can check on their own. So we do it backwards from the usual shop: diagnosis first, a straight conversation second, and a wrench in hand only once you have said yes to a number you have already seen.

Sometimes that conversation ends with us telling you not to spend the money. A tired engine in an otherwise tired vehicle is not always worth a rebuild, and you deserve to hear that before you write a cheque, not after.

What the job covers

Complete engine replacement

Remanufactured or good used long blocks, swapped, timed, sealed and road-tested before it comes back to you.

Head gasket and top-end work

Compression and leak-down testing to confirm the fault before anything gets taken apart.

Timing belts, chains and tensioners

Replaced on schedule or after a failure, with the water pump done at the same time where it shares the job.

Cooling system repair

Radiators, hoses, thermostats and water pumps — the overheating that kills engines is usually cheap to stop early.

Oil leaks and seals

Front and rear main seals, valve covers, oil pans, and tracing the leak properly rather than guessing.

Sensor, misfire and check-engine faults

Full diagnostic before parts get bought, so you are not paying to replace things that were never broken.

Time to call

Signs you should not ignore

Any one of these is worth a phone call. Several together is worth one today.

  • Knocking, ticking or rattling that changes with engine speed
  • Steam, sweet smell, or a temperature gauge that climbs in traffic
  • Blue or white smoke from the exhaust
  • Losing coolant with no puddle underneath
  • Check engine light with a misfire or rough idle
  • Oil consumption between changes

Zack was a true professional. He was super responsive taking care of our radiator hoses even on a holiday weekend. I highly recommend Wolfpack.

Zach with Wolfpack repair was not only honest, he was also quick to respond — within less than an hour. Although it was a relatively straight-forward fix, the peace of mind of having someone certified & very competent repair my vehicle saved me time, the headache, and money. WOW!
